Experience
Before returning to academia, I spent several years in industry in program and product management and data-driven operations — cloud data-warehousing, supply chain, and analytics. That work grounds the engineering and data-science side of my current research.
Industry
Program Manager — Microsoft
Owned a $4M delivery pipeline of cloud data-warehouse appliances to enterprise data centers nationwide and built the logistics and cost model for Parallel Data Warehouse infrastructure, coordinating across engineering, OEM, and customer teams.
Project Management Specialist — Quanta Computer (Amazon AWS NPI)
Coordinated New Product Introduction releases for Amazon AWS cloud servers across a North America–Asia supply chain (contributing to 66% year-over-year sales growth); managed bill-of-materials and component provisioning.
Earlier roles
Project Engineer (Co-op) — Caterpillar Inc.
Built NPV-based analyses projecting ~$1M/year in savings across warehouse-relocation scenarios; cut urgent-order tardiness by 60% using Six Sigma DMAIC.
Research Assistant (Co-op) — Argonne National Laboratory
Regression and simulation modeling of urban evacuation timing for Chicago, in collaboration with NASA; design of experiments and statistical modeling.
